Farmers Stand Up Against the EATS/Save Our Bacon Act (SOB)

In October 2025, more than 200 farmers from every corner of America left their fields behind and came to Washington, D.C. — not for politics, but for survival. They came to stand against the EATS / Save Our Bacon Act (SOB) — legislation that would erase hundreds of state laws protecting both family farmers and animal welfare, including California’s Prop 12, which ensures animals can at least turn around. Farmers invested heavily to meet Prop 12’s higher standards because they believe in responsible farming. If the EATS Act overturns this law and others, they’ll lose those investments and be undercut by substandard products flooding the market. These farmers didn’t come for fame or attention. They came to fight for their farms, their families, and the future of American agriculture. This is their story.
