Wholestone Farms regrets to inform you that as of March 13th, The Butcher Shop, located in Sioux Falls, SD, will be closed until further notice.
The South Dakota Pork Plant is also on hold.
Sioux Falls City Councilor Curt Soehl told the Sioux Falls Argus Leader that Wholestone’s plans to build the $500 million pork processing plant are temporarily on hold.
The plant proposal has been embattled from the start, already surviving a ballot measure aimed at preventing construction of new slaughterhouses, a lawsuit regarding the same ballot measure and more than $1 million in donations opposing the plant.
