U.S. Pork Exports Continue to Soar in May

Another outstanding month in Mexico and robust demand for variety meats in May helped exports soar 14% above last year’s pace, reaching 1.22 million metric tons (mt) in volume and $3.35 billion in value year to date.

May Export Highlights:

🌟 U.S. pork exports to Mexico had an outstanding month, surging by 21% from last year to reach 96,811 mt and a value of $198.9 million. The demand for pork variety meat in Mexico has also strengthened, contributing to a remarkable 46% increase in variety meat shipments.

🌟 May pork exports to South Korea rose by an impressive 25%, totaling 21,182 mt, with a value of $73.4 million.

🌟 Pork variety meat exports reached a record value of $127 million in May, demonstrating a 24% increase from last year. The volume of variety meat exports also grew by 27%, making it the ninth-largest on record.

🌟 Australia saw a doubling of May exports compared to the previous year, while Taiwan witnessed the largest pork exports in 12 years. Central America and the ASEAN region also showcased notable increases in both volume and value.
