Nolechek’s Meats ceases production of its specialty bacon, ham, sausages, and specialty meats

As posted from the source:

For 71 years, Nolechek’s Meats has withstood the test of time. Over the last five years, we have experienced unprecedented growth, expanded our wholesale and internet sales, and improved our business, all while managing difficult changes and decisions.

Countless events transpired the last three years that have been thrust upon our business and all Americans. Events which fundamentally changed not only the way we do business, but the landscape of our entire country. So much of what is transpiring is outside the scope of our direct control – regulatory oversight, lack of leadership and accountability in government, supply chain, labor force – yet, these things impact business in very tangible ways. The last year was particularly eye-opening to what it takes to survive as a small business. It has been insightful, humbling, and revealing to say the least. Through it all our small, but mighty team persevered, pivoted, and adapted.

As we reflect on what we can and cannot control, along with the decisions and choices that led us to this pivotal moment in Nolechek’s history, we are reminded of our responsibility to honor the legacy and respect what began over seven decades ago when Doc Nolechek purchased the Thorp Locker Plant & Soda Fountain. We are blessed to live the American Dream and proud to be included as one of the three out of 100 businesses that transitioned to a fourth generation.

We have made the decision to begin the process of selling Nolechek’s Meats and will cease production on August 31, 2023, and clear inventory through September 30, 2023 or until product is gone.

The Nolechek Family understands this news is heavy and that it will affect our beloved customers and fans, spanning four generations. It has been nothing short of an honor to have worked with the best-of-the-best and share our products with the most amazing people from all over the country. To carry on the tradition of creating relationships and memories through shared food experiences, while staying true to our core values of customer service and attention to detail, has been a blessing. We cannot stress enough how much we appreciate the countless people who have supported us individually and as a business over the years and are thankful for the opportunity to share our passion with individuals of all backgrounds and demographics. Rest assured that we will be honoring all commitments until the end to customers – retail, online, and wholesale – and look forward to a memorable and successful last chapter of Nolechek’s Meats.

We ask that people please respect the fact that we are a very small team, operating day-to-day and managing this transition. We also ask that people show patience and understanding, trusting that we are doing our best to navigate this change. And finally, we ask that individuals refrain from overwhelming our team with phone calls. If people have questions or comments, please email them to: nolecheks@gmail.com. This release will appear in next week’s Thorp Courier and Shopper.
