Clinton FFA’s Davis Howell Achieves National Recognition in Swine Production Entrepreneurship

In a triumph for Clinton FFA Chapter, their President, Davis Howell, clinched the title of Proficiency Winner in Swine Production – Entrepreneurship at the prestigious 96th Annual National FFA Convention and Expo. This recognition is a testament to Howell’s dedication and excellence in the field.

The Agricultural Proficiency Awards, bestowed upon FFA members, commend those who, through supervised agricultural experiences (SAE), have honed specialized skills pivotal for their future careers. Howell’s outstanding SAE comprises two projects: breeding swine and show swine.

His breeding operation boasts between 12 and 15 sows and gilts, complemented by a check boar. Howell orchestrates breeding twice a year, with the ultimate goal of transferring the offspring to his show swine project. Supported wholeheartedly by his parents, Rebecca and Zachary, as well as FFA advisors Hannah Riedle, Kayla Riedle, and Savannah Riegle, Howell has emerged as a beacon of success in the realm of swine production.

The National FFA Convention provides a platform for students nationwide to compete in nearly 50 diverse areas, spanning from agricultural communications to wildlife management. Howell’s achievement underscores not only his personal accomplishments but also the caliber of talent fostered by Clinton FFA. Here’s to celebrating the well-deserved success of Davis Howell on this remarkable occasion!
