Seaboard Foods based in Merriam, Kansas is a division of the larger conglomerate Seaboard Corporation which is a Fortune 500 company. Seaboard Foods has 365,000 sows making them the fourth largest swine company in the U.S. Seaboard Foods hog production facilities are based in Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.
Seaboard began building farms in the 1990s and has more than 2,000 dedicated farm employees across five states. Seaboard Foods plant in Guymon, Oklahoma opened in 1995 and processes more than 20,000 hogs a day. Seaboard Foods has a joint venture plant with Triumph Foods in Sioux City, Iowa, as well as further processing at its co-owned facilities with Triumph Foods, Daily’s Premium Meats. Seaboard Foods raises/markets over 7.2 million hogs a year and their feed mills produce 2.4 million tons of feed a year.
