Triumph Foods to expand in St. Joseph, creating 88 new jobs

Triumph Foods, a leading processor of premium pork products worldwide, announced today that it will expand in St. Joseph, creating 88 new jobs. The company’s expansion will enable the continued growth of its workforce.

“Triumph Foods is a Missouri-made, leading pork processor that we’re excited to see continuing to grow,” said Governor Mike Parson. “This company’s expansion is an exciting development for the local community and regional economy and will further strengthen our state’s thriving agriculture industry. We look forward to Triumph Foods’ continued success as it invests and creates jobs in St. Joseph.”

Triumph Foods was founded in 2003 by five of the largest independently owned pork producers in the nation. The company’s 800,000-square-foot facility, located in St. Joseph, opened a few years later in 2006. Triumph Foods operates one of the most technologically advanced pork production plants in the country, producing 1.5 billion pounds of high-quality, locally sourced pork products annually.

“We are proud of the work we do every day to feed the world,” said Triumph Foods President and CEO Matt England. “This expansion will keep our sanitation practices in-house, with valued team members from our local community who are qualified and trained in safety. We are thankful for the Missouri Works program for recognizing how this will develop skills and provide meaningful career opportunities within the state.”

Triumph Foods is a community pillar that continues to find new ways to better the St. Joseph area. The company donates to numerous charities and organizations within the community, including the donation of more than 100,000 pounds of pork products to local food banks this year.

“We’re proud to support Triumph Foods alongside our partners as it expands in St. Joseph,” said Michelle Hataway, Acting Director of the Department of Economic Development. “This leading employer is helping Missourians prosper in the area through ongoing investment, job creation, and community outreach.”

For this expansion, Triumph Foods will benefit from the Missouri Works program, a tool that helps companies expand and retain workers by providing access to capital through withholdings or tax credits for job creation.
