Standard Meat Company, a fourth-generation family-owned leader in protein processing and packaging, is celebrating its 90th anniversary with the grand opening of a new state-of-the-art facility located near the historic Fort Worth Stockyards. This milestone underscores the company’s continued growth, technological leadership, and long-term commitment to advancing the North American protein industry.
The new plant—Standard Meat’s fifth facility—represents the company’s most innovative build to date. Designed for versatility and rapid scaling, it is equipped for sous vide, searing, portioning, and next-generation packaging technologies to support evolving customer needs in both pork and beef markets.
A Legacy of Innovation, Built for the Future
Over its 90-year history, Standard Meat has helped transform how protein is processed and delivered. The company pioneered adoption of Cryovac packaging in the 1960s and advanced automated steak and portioning technologies through the 1990s and 2000s. Today, under the leadership of Co-Presidents Ben Rosenthal and Ashli Rosenthal Blumenfeld, Standard Meat is entering a new era of innovation and purpose-driven growth.
“We often describe Standard Meat as a 90-year-old startup,” said Rosenthal. “We inherited a deep entrepreneurial legacy, and we’re committed to building on it with modern capabilities that help our customers win in the marketplace.”
“This isn’t just about our history—it’s about investing in the next generation of protein solutions,” added Blumenfeld. “Our new facility and our people-first culture position us to lead for decades to come.”
Culture, Growth, and Strategic Direction
To mark its 90th year, Standard Meat has also launched a new Culture & Strategy Department to embed its renewed purpose—to inspire the connections and breakthroughs that ultimately feed our life—across every level of the organization. The company employs more than 1,100 team members across Texas and continues to expand partnerships with leading brands in foodservice, retail, and value-added pork innovation.
A Milestone for the Protein Industry
The new Fort Worth facility is currently in soft launch ahead of its grand opening on September 17, 2025. It represents a significant advancement in precision portioning and ready-to-cook technology—areas that align with growing demand for premium pork products, prepared meats, and export-ready innovations.
From a family meat stall in 1935 to a modern protein powerhouse in 2025, Standard Meat Company continues to model how legacy, technology, and family leadership can converge to shape the future of meat production.
