PigTek has added a new hog barn management control to supplement its line of smart controls. The easy-to-use CHORE-TIME® CENTRO™ Control offers pig producers the ability to economically manage feed delivery and ventilation systems as well as other functions.
Like the company’s popular CHORE-TIME PigCentral® Control, the more compact CENTRO Control can manage some pig barns entirely on its own, including most typical finisher barns. Expansion boxes are available if producers require additional functionality, such as managing multiple variable speed fans.
This new Chore-Time control from PigTek is designed to improve and optimize the barn’s operations with the ability to monitor and analyze data trends. The new control is also CYNERGY READY™ for farm-to-fork data collection using CTB’s CYNERGY™ Data Integration.
The CENTRO Control features a 6.75-inch (171-mm) diagonal touchscreen with a military-grade display module that is designed for long life and easy viewing. Customizable menus and easily identifiable icons help to make navigation intuitive for all users.
For simple remote access, internet-connected pig facilities can use a built-in QR code on the CENTRO Control’s home screen to enable easy setup for connecting to nearly any mobile or desktop device. From within the facility’s account, hog farmers can view the high-level status of each individual room and drill down for more detail and take any action needed.
Despite its compact size, the new CENTRO Control has four modular card expansion slots as well as a built-in utility board with a power supply and contact terminals. The control can be ordered pre-configured for any Chore-Time Feed Delivery System and/or Chore-Time Ventilation System. Facilities requiring more than four card modules can add an 11-card secondary unit for more control options.
For producers using variable speed fans requiring TRIAC controls, PigTek offers dual variable TRIAC expansion boxes. The boxes easily install using a simple twisted pair wire connecting the CENTRO Control to the expansion boxes.
Like the CHORE-TIME PigCentral Control, the CENTRO Control offers managed alarms, ability to control automatic feed bin boot slide actuators and access to historical data. The new control similarly offers a powerful scripting engine for producers who want to add functions not already included in the control. It also can be configured for six defined user levels assignable to different users or groups while allowing the control to remain on lockdown to avoid accidental changes.
