Iowa Select Farms has announced an exciting addition to its leadership team with the appointment of Chris Blevins as Director of Breed-to-Wean. Bringing a wealth of experience in sow systems and multiplication, Blevins is set to play a key role in one of the most vital areas of pork production.
With a deep background in reproduction, gilt development, and sow herd management, Chris steps into this role after serving as Director of Reproduction at Passel Farms, where he managed a 65,000-sow system that included boar studs, gilt development, warehousing, and purchasing. His career also includes time as Senior Production Manager at Professional Swine Management, where he led multiplication operations, oversaw gilt sales, and managed half of the sow system.
Earlier in his career, Blevins gained valuable hands-on experience in sow and finishing production with Country View Farms and White River Coop/Land O’Lakes, building a well-rounded foundation that will serve him well in his new role.
Chris will now join forces with Matt Grimm and Dan Dean to round out Iowa Select’s newly restructured breed-to-wean leadership team. Each director will oversee approximately 85,000 sows and associated gilt development units, part of a broader initiative to bring enhanced focus, performance accountability, and consistency to a crucial part of the production chain.
