Olymel Launches New Canadian Pork Cuts to Meet Consumer Demand

Olymel, one of Canada’s leading pork and poultry processors, has announced the launch of a new line of pork products designed to provide consumers with high-quality, convenient, and flavorful options. The new cuts are now available in grocery stores across Quebec.

The launch features five new pork products:

  • Pork T-bone

  • Chimichurri pork flank steak

  • Hotel cut pork chops

  • Pork capicola steak

  • Greek-style pork sirloin skewers

Daniel Rivest, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Olymel, noted that these new offerings are tailored to meet evolving consumer needs, delivering premium-quality pork cuts that are easy to prepare at home. “These products fill an untapped niche in the pork industry and respond directly to the demand for convenient and upscale cooking experiences,” said Rivest.

The initiative also reflects broader market trends. With 50% of Canadians identifying protein as a major part of their diet and 68% planning to cook at home more often due to economic considerations, Olymel’s new pork products are well-positioned to capture growing interest in high-quality, versatile protein options.

Alongside the pork launch, Olymel is also expanding its poultry offerings with fresh, pre-seasoned products, including Mediterranean-style chicken breasts, Teriyaki chicken thighs, Shish taouk chicken skewers, and Piri-Piri chicken drumsticks.

The product rollout coincides with the unveiling of Olymel’s refreshed brand image, which introduces a new navy blue color scheme symbolizing quality and elegance, while maintaining core elements of the original brand identity.

Olymel President and CEO Yanick Gervais emphasized the company’s ongoing investment in innovation: “We continue to invest in research and development to improve our food offerings and stay ahead of changing consumer preferences.”

The launch marks another step in strengthening the presence of Canadian pork in the retail market while offering new value-added options to consumers.
