Evans Meats & Seafood, a family-owned distributor renowned for its premium meats and seafood, is investing $8 million in a new headquarters and distribution center in Birmingham, Alabama. This expansion underscores the company’s commitment to enhancing its pork processing capabilities and supporting the swine industry in the Southeast.
The upcoming facility will encompass office spaces, a warehouse, food processing areas, and distribution operations. Evans Meats acquired the 3.6-acre property, formerly occupied by S&S Tire, for $2.63 million in September 2024. The company anticipates relocating to the new site by early spring 2026.
Established in 1998 by J.T. “Butch” Evans Jr., Evans Meats has grown to employ 135 individuals and plans to add 20 more positions by 2030. The company specializes in high-quality meats, including heritage pork sourced from reputable producers like Homeplace Pastures. These partnerships emphasize regenerative farming practices, ensuring pork products are Certified Humane and free from antibiotics and hormones.
The new headquarters is expected to bolster Evans Meats’ capacity to process and distribute premium pork products, meeting the growing demand for ethically sourced meats.
