In early May 2025, approximately 90 American meat processors participated in a tour of German meat processing facilities in the Frankfurt Rhine-Main region, organized by the American Association of Meat Processors (AAMP) in conjunction with the IFFA trade fair in Frankfurt.
The tour included visits to three family-owned German processors: Karl Eidmann in Bruchköbel, Der Ludwig in Schlüchtern, and Dieter’s Wurstladen in Lützelbach. These establishments are renowned for their high-quality meat products and commitment to traditional butchery practices.
At Dieter’s Wurstladen, attendees were given an inside look at the facility’s recent renovations, which feature state-of-the-art equipment. The processor raises its own animals, ensuring quality control from farm to finished product.
The tour provided valuable insights into German meat processing techniques and offered attendees the opportunity to observe operations firsthand. The AAMP expressed gratitude to the host businesses for their hospitality and for allowing behind-the-scenes access to their facilities.
This educational experience coincided with IFFA 2025, the world’s leading trade fair for technology in meat and alternative proteins, held in Frankfurt from May 3 to May 8, 2025. The event showcased innovations in automation, artificial intelligence, and robotics within the protein processing industry
