Farm Updates
All corn and soybean plants are in the ground and growing. We did have to replant some areas, however, as a deluge of rain washed some of the seeds out of the ground.
Pigs have been sick. The good news is they are getting better. We had a veterinarian diagnose them with possible PRRS and the Flu. This is one of the hard parts about raising pigs. We do what we can to keep them healthy, but sickness still finds a way into the barns.
The Elephant in the Room
Can we talk about Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his MAHA efforts. I admit I was very nervous about him being part of the White House presidential staff. I had heard rumors about not relying on science when he makes claims.
And sure enough . . .
When I read the headline, “The MAHA Report Cites Studies That Don’t Exist,” I felt a bit like “I told you so.” Ugh. We need tons—n rely on science to make decisioot fake science, but real science.
How do we get our voices heard?
Living the Farm Life
It’s been very busy around the farm. And not just “farming” tasks.
We are amid a remodel on a house my mother-in-law built and lived in. We are doing some upgrades. Let me tell you, I do not enjoy this at all. We hope that we will move into that house someday.
My oldest grandchild graduated from high school this past weekend. Such an exciting time for her. She will be headed to the University of Wisconsin Stout (located in Menomonie, WI). We grilled pork loins for the graduation reception. 12 of them topped with Martin County Magic Seasoning! I wouldn’t expect anything different living in the #1 pork-producing county in Minnesota.

Trumpets in the Field! (Well, at least trumpeter swans)
Sometimes, we need to take a deep breath and appreciate all that God gives us by living in rural America. Here are some trumpeter swans hanging out near our home. And, yes, they sound like trumpets! Seeing nature in my backyard restores my soul. Yes, I know. I am very lucky.
Clothing
I have an outlet for some farm-themed clothes. Check them out. (I love the shirts I have, as I love promoting agriculture!)

Thank you for stopping by!
