Tyson Foods has reached an agreement to sell four of its U.S. cold storage warehouses to Lineage, a leading temperature-controlled logistics company, in a transaction valued at $247 million. The sale includes facilities located in Pottsville, Pennsylvania; Olathe, Kansas; Rochelle, Illinois; and Tolleson, Arizona.
Together, the warehouses account for approximately 49 million cubic feet of storage space and 160,000 pallet positions. The deal is expected to close in the second quarter of 2025, subject to customary closing conditions.
As part of the agreement, Lineage will integrate more than 1,000 Tyson employees and gradually transition the facilities into public cold storage warehouses. This move reflects an expansion of the companies’ existing partnership.
Additionally, Lineage will design, build, and operate two new fully automated cold storage facilities for Tyson in key U.S. markets. Tyson will serve as the anchor tenant for both projects and will also begin storing product at Lineage’s new automated facility in Hazleton, Pennsylvania.
This strategic shift allows Tyson to optimize its supply chain while enhancing long-term logistics capabilities through advanced cold storage infrastructure.
