Bacon-themed restaurant opens in Las Vegas

Bacon Nation, a 24-hour restaurant offering a menu of inventive dishes built around 13 varieties of bacon, has opened in the D Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas, according to news reports.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner and desserts are served in a 120-person capacity dining room or can be ordered online and picked up via a locker system, Eater reported.

A sample of what’s available: a reverse BLT sandwich held together with a lattice of bacon, French toast topped with caramelized bananas, peanut butter mousse and bacon, bacon-stuffed mac and cheese pancake, bacon burrito with pulled pork, an Elvis milkshake/peanut butter and bacon sandwich combo, and maple bacon cheesecake.

According to Bon Appetit, upscale restaurants across the country are again featuring bacon prominently on menus, reviving a trend that became hot in the 2010s.

And at Bacon Nation, the restaurant had to place a rush reorder with its supplier after the first week of business because it sold so much bacon, Bon Appetit reported.
