

Registration is now open for the 2022 Pork Industry Conference hosted by Four Star Veterinary Service, a business with 22 veterinarians based in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Iowa. The conference will be September 14 at Grand Wayne Convention Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The conference will focus on trade and biosecurity, while also addressing current trends and other challenges facing producers in the pork industry. Dermot Hayes, Ph.D., professor of economics at Iowa State, will discuss the impact pork trade and the world economy have on the swine industry during the keynote address. Bret Marsh, D.V.M., Indiana State veterinarian, will cover biosecurity plans for Indiana and surrounding states, and Jason Woodworth, Ph.D., research professor at Kansas State University, will discuss feed biosecurity, vitamins, and minerals bioactivity.
Other speakers covering swine industry topics include Mark Knauer, Ph.D., extension swine specialist at North Carolina State University, and Drew Derstein, manager with Deer Stone Ag.
This year’s conference will include the addition of question-and-answer breakout sessions with the experts, covering economics, nursery/finisher, nutrition, sows, and water quality. Four Star veterinarians will be involved in these sessions.
