
Iowa Select Farms has announced the appointment of Dr. Tyler Te Grotenhuis as Vice President of Operations, Wean-to-Finish—an important leadership role supporting the continued advancement of the company’s production system.
Dr. Te Grotenhuis brings extensive experience across farrow-to-finish operations, swine health management, team leadership, and research and development. Most recently, he served as Director of Business Development at BarnTools, helping the company grow through strategic partnerships and expanded adoption of its technology platform.
Prior to that, he held several key roles at Christensen Farms, including:

General Manager of Sow Operations

General Manager of Wean-to-Finish Operations

Staff Veterinarian
During his tenure, he oversaw wean-to-finish systems across more than 550 sites, led multi-state sow operations, improved operational efficiency, and strengthened collaboration across safety, animal care, biosecurity, transportation, marketing, and veterinary services.
An Iowa native, Dr. Te Grotenhuis holds a B.S. in Agricultural Business and Animal Science from Dordt College, a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University, and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas.
