Dr. Clayton Johnson Named Recipient of Meritorious Service Award

Dr. Clayton Johnson has been named the 2026 recipient of the Meritorious Service Award, recognizing his outstanding dedication and service to the American Association of Swine Veterinarians and the swine industry.

He is widely recognized for his expertise in swine health management, disease control strategies, and veterinary leadership.

Throughout his career, Johnson has played an active role in advancing the swine veterinary profession through mentorship, education, and industry engagement. Johnson has also served on numerous AASV committees over the years, including leadership roles on the Student Recruitment Committee and the Pharmaceutical and Biologics Committee, one of the association’s most active groups.

In addition to his veterinary practice, Johnson hosts the widely recognized Swine Health Blackbelt Podcast, a global platform that translates complex swine health research into practical insights for producers and veterinarians.

Johnson credits his father, also a veterinarian, for instilling the foundational skills that shaped his career, including strong technical knowledge, communication, and relationship building.
