A new player has officially entered the North American animal nutrition landscape.
Akralos Animal Nutrition launched February 1, bringing together major feed operations from ADM and Alltech through a newly formed joint venture.
Akralos combines Alltech’s U.S.-based Hubbard Feeds and Canada-based Masterfeeds businesses with ADM’s U.S. feed operations, creating a large-scale, integrated animal nutrition company focused on livestock, equine, backyard and leisure animal markets.
The company operates more than 40 feed mills across North America and is supported by 1,400+ employees, delivering feeds, minerals and supplements backed by nutrition science, applied research and localized customer support.
“Akralos brings together proven scale, innovation and infrastructure with a deep commitment to service and results,” said Brian Gier, chief executive officer of Akralos. “From day one, our focus is on delivering nutrition our customers can rely on, support they can count on and partnerships that help their animals and businesses thrive.”
Built on Longstanding ADM–Alltech Collaboration
The formation of Akralos builds on a relationship between ADM and Alltech that dates back to 1980, when ADM became Alltech’s first customer. The joint venture unites ADM’s supply-chain scale and operational reach with Alltech’s science-driven, customer-focused approach to nutrition.
Headquartered in Lexington, Akralos’ footprint includes feed manufacturing sites, research capabilities and laboratory facilities throughout the U.S. and Canada. The company positions itself as an “advanced nutrition partner,” focused on helping producers and retailers gain measurable performance and efficiency advantages.
“With the unique strengths and shared values of Alltech and ADM, we can deliver deeper expertise, broader support and a stronger portfolio of nutrition solutions,” said Brad Dalke, Akralos chief operating officer and a 27-year ADM veteran.
What This Means for Producers
While Akralos now serves as the parent organization, Hubbard Feeds and Masterfeeds will remain the primary customer-facing brands, preserving continuity for existing customers. Product and portfolio alignment is underway, allowing each brand to evolve while leveraging shared research, logistics and operational resources.
“Our vision is to become the most trusted name in animal nutrition by delivering high-performance feeds and partnerships that drive results,” Gier said. “We’re here to listen, collaborate and use science to solve real-world challenges.”
Akralos is now fully operational and serving customers across North America.
