Women in Agriculture Conference Was a Success

“Celebrating Agriculture” was the theme of the recent Women in Agriculture Conference in Moline, and Illinois Farm Bureau was proud to be a sponsor because we believe in celebrating women!

The one-day event offered nearly 200 women of every age and every level of farm involvement a variety of learning opportunities, including breakout sessions:

• Creating safe play areas on the farm
• Estate planning
• Commodity marketing
• Connecting with consumers
• A woman’s place on the Hill (FB ACT)
• Managing farm finances
• Panel discussion: So you married a farmer. Now what?

One of the highlights of the conference was hearing from the keynote speaker, Michele Payn-Knoper. Her kickboxing approach gave a lasting impression to her plan for all women to lead through the significant changes facing agriculture in the 21st century.
