After a career of 37 years in the pig genetics business, Pieter Antoon Seghers has elected to reduce his professional time commitments and pass on the torch. On October 1st 2019, Thomas de Bretagne will succeed him as CEO of Choice.
Thomas de Bretagne has more than 15 years of experience in animal genetics. He worked for Pen Ar Lan as R&D Director between 2002 and 2010 after he joined the bovine genetics and a broiler genetics company as global R&D Director. The nomination of Thomas as CEO of Choice is the culmination of a two-year long process, which started when Thomas joined Choice in August 2017 as Deputy CEO. His responsibilities included the general management of Choice France and supervising the R&D Team.
Pieter Seghers stated, “I am very pleased to have had the opportunity to work with Thomas during this transition period. He has shown himself to be the right person to lead Choice towards the achievement of our ambitions. Thomas is a strong leader with a passion for the field of pig genetics”.
Thomas de Bretagne said, “I am very honored with this nomination and with the trust shareholders have in me to carry out this mission. “For the past two years, I have been involved in the strategic decisions and principal management decisions of Choice, and I will do my utmost to lead Choice toward the goals we have set.
