Groundbreaking at Fair Oaks Pig Adventure tourable farm

Many in the area, and across the state, are aware of the tasty fun that can be had at the Fair Oaks Dairy Adventure. On Tuesday, the public was invited to witness the groundbreaking ceremony for the next member of the Fair Oaks Agritourism family: the Fair Oaks Pig Adventure.

Planned and operated by the new company Legacy Farms, the Pig Adventure is designed to mimic the successes of the Dairy Adventure in introducing non-farmers to the farming process while showcasing the latest in agricultural technologies.

“It doesn’t look like much yet,” says Malcolm Dekryger, vice-president of Belstra Milling, the company contracted to establish the facility, “but this is the beginning of a wonderful facility that will be a marriage between pig production and education.  As far as we can tell, this is a unique facility both in Indiana and in the whole world.”
