Govenor Declares State of Emergency for Indiana County after Tornadoes Rip Through the State




Strong storms are continuing to hit Indiana after several tornadoes ripped through the state yesterday. Kokomo county was hit the worst, with approximately 10 reported injuries.

It is unknown yet what the total damage amounts to. According to local media, buildings and barns were destroyed by the tornadoes and strong winds have flattened surrounding corn fields.

The storms are expected to continue throughout today.

“Severe thunderstorms that can produce strong wind gusts, hail, and tornadoes are possible this afternoon in to the evening from the Central Plains to the Ohio Valley,” the NWS said. “Heavy rains are possible over the Central Plain and the Middle Mississippi Valley.”
